چکیده

Successive Interference Cancellation is a promising technique for increasing the capacity of uplink CDMA channels. Fundamental research has shown that in an AWGN channel, the technique can approach the Shannon capacity[1]. However, a multipath channel presents a difficult challenge for interference cancellation, as each multipath component separated by more than a chip time appears to the receiver as an independent user. Recent research has addressed this issue for a small number of paths. Here we show an approach using recently derived optimum power control [2] that significantly increases the capacity over the previously published results for interference cancellation in multipath fading channels, while using only a single cancellation stage. However, simulations show that the capacity is inversely proportional to the number of multipath components. Thus, it appears that current work on interference cancellation can be successfully applied only to channels with a very limited number of multipath components.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

An Adaptive Multistage Parallel Interference Canceller for CDMA Systems over Frequency Selective Fading Channels

-In this paper, a hit inversion (BI) procedure in previous works is furtherinvestigated over multipath frequency selective fading' channels for DS-CDMA communication systems. Moreover, after the BI procedure performed with partial parallel interference, cancellation (PPIC) schemes where the partial cancellation weight (PCW) is adapted by the least mean square (LMS) adaptive filtering algorithm,...

Successive interference cancellation for multiuser asynchronous DS/CDMA detectors in multipath fading links

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the use of code-division multiple access (CDMA) in cellular mobile and wireless personal communications. The choice of such multiaccess technique is attractive because of its potential capacity increases and other technical factors such as privacy and multipath rejection capabilities. However, it is well known that the performance of CDM...

Multistage interference cancellation with diversity reception for asynchronous QPSK DS/CDMA systems over multipath fading channels

A multistage interference cancellation (MIC) technique with diversity reception for QPSK asynchronous Direct-Sequence Code-Division Multiple-Access (DS/CDMA) systems over frequency-selective multipath Rayleigh fading channels is introduced. Unlike the previous MIC [1, 2], which tries to remove the lump sum of the multiple-access interference (MAI) and self-interference (SI), this introduced MIC...

Adaptive detection in asynchronous code-division multiple-access system in multipath fading channels

In code-division multiple-access systems transmitting data over time-varying multipath channels, both intersymbol interference (ISI) and multiple-access interference (MAI) arise. In this paper, we address interference suppression, multipath diversity and processing gain protection for multiuser detection with less noise enhancement by using a parallel cancelling scheme. The proposed detector co...
